Cultural IQ Blog
On October 25, 2007 I launched my blog, Cultural IQ, at http://theculturalcoach.typepad.com/ Please visit me there to offer your ideas and opinions regarding the issues of the day. My hope is that cultural trendsetters and change agents will gather there regularly to share thoughts, and offer support and resources to one another. Often, cultural leaders are overlooked in their communities. Our work is not sexy and our voices are not angry, which means people don’t always have us on the radar screen.
If America had a cultural marketplace to share best practices and strategies, the march for inclusiveness would move further and faster. Each day I will discuss the news; or share a success story, or offer Cultural IQ techniques that will enable us to counteract the diversity resistors and champions of hate whose ranks, as you know, are swiftly increasing in number.
Something has gone very wrong when, in 2007, officials in the state of New York feel they must consider legislation to keep citizens from displaying nooses and harassing those who are a different color. People filled with hate also may be full of fear. We have to unlock the dark door to the past so it will stop blocking America’s path to a more prosperous, more democratic future.
In a great republic, cultural communities stand together because they desire to be close, not because they fear the wrath of intruders. We must find a way to come together before the terrorist groups now targeting the U.S. manage to drive its citizens apart.
Please join in on this great conversation and tell members of your church, mosque or synagogue. Middle America’s voices must rise now above those of the liberal and conservative extremists who currently control and frame these critical dialogues.
While visiting the blog, please take a moment to tell us about the programs you and your organizations offer, and provide ideas to help others around the country to replicate your success.
In service to you,
